New Door

I was walking down Second Avenue last week, when I saw that the beloved 16 Handles had a new door!

It's not very spiffy:

Not very spiffy.

The lock is the sort you might see on an old shed:

Only two screws — and they're not even alike!

Free Samples

The beloved 16 Handles, on Second Avenue, was handing out free samples of their delicious frozen yogurt this past Sunday, as you can see here:

16 Handles has proven to be a long-standing favorite of East Villagers, outlasting even the beloved Pinkberry!

A Great Sadness

It has been brought to my attention that the Pinkberry on St. Mark's Place has closed!

Pinkberry closed.

This brings great sadness to the hearts of all East Villagers, who have come to love their local Pinkberry.

We will all miss this Pinkberry greatly. Fortunately, 16 Handles on Second Avenue is still open. I have to say, as much as I liked this Pinkberry, 16 Handles is my favorite!

It's so good!

16 Handles

I was never big on frozen yogurt. When Pinkberry came around, I thought of it only as a place where the daughters of millionaires went, with their dogs in their bags, and tweeted about it.

However, one day I was taken to 16 Handles on Second Avenue, and I have to say it's very good.

A lot of people put candy and sprinkles and such on their yogurt, but I like fruit: mangoes, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, mostly berries. The yogurt makes the berries freeze where they touch, but they're still good.

That's mine on the right. OK, I like sprinkles, too. Who doesn't?!
