I was walking across East 7th Street yesterday evening, when I saw what I thought was an ad for a phone company:

Phone company ad?

It's a strange sort of ad, with a cartoon-guy holding a phone from probably the 1980s.

Then someone told me he was a rap singer (from the 80s) — at least the phone makes sense now!

My favorite rapper is MC Escher!

Another East Village Morning

Where else would someone stand at what looks like a hitching post, eating their toast and coffee, alone, on top of the cellar doors, at a coffee shop with no name, with the ghost of Adam Yauch saying "Just me, my posse and… MCA!"

Table for one is ready.
