Crusty Campsite

I was walking up Second Avenue yesterday morning, when I passed by this:

Crusty campsite.

There were no crusties in sight though. Maybe he was in the church — a crusty "too honest to steal" is a God-fearing crusty! Amen!

Churches

A lot of people think that East Villagers are all godless heathens, but in actuality there are more churches, synagogues, and mosques (in that order) in the East Village than there are Starbucks!

This is a picture of the inside of the most Holy Redeemer Church on East 3rd street, with its door open (naturally):

Most Holy Redeemer church.

There's always a place to pray in the East Village!

Churches

This is a church on the corner of Avenue A and East 10th Street, called St. Nicholas of Myra Orthodox Church:

Two short blocks north is this empty lot, all that's left of Mary Help of Christians Church:

How many churches does the East Village need in such close proximity, anyway? I support Jeremiah's proposal to limit the number of churches.
