St. Mark's Place Closed

If you were thinking of driving eastward on St. Mark's Place today, you might want to rethink your plans.

Behold:

Street Closed sign.

It should say: Place Closed!

Here is a picture of the street repair workers working to repair the street:

I'm not sure what was wrong, but I'm glad they're fixing it!

Making the East Village Safer

Back in July, 2015, I wrote about efforts underway then to make the busiest entry-point into the East Village safer.

Today, I am happy to report that there has been great progress since that time!

Behold:

Great progress.

There is still much work to be done though:

Much work to be done.

So the next time you find yourself at Third Avenue and St. Mark's Place, tell the Department of Transportation workers there: "Good job! Thank you for keeping us safe… in the East Village Today!"
