Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade, Part 3 of 3

Taking pictures at this event was not easy – I felt like a paparazzo!

I must say, this is definitely one of the high points of the East Village social calendar!

So with no further ado, I present dogs alone:

Start spreading the newspaper…

Dogs will be dogs!

Where's Shaggy?

The Korilla dog! "Pleased to meet you."

Happy birthday!

When good dogs go bad.

I've never seen this show.

Black dog, white tutu.

Cross-eyed lobster.

Roar!

Minions!

Peacock.

Hotdog! (It never gets old.)

Black dog, black hat.

Pants on the ground… pants on the ground…

Thing 1 and Thing 2.

I don't see the connection.

Tiny dog, tiny costume.

I'm looking for the man who shot my paw.

I'm blurry but I'm cute.

Oh heck, it's up to my neck.

Cerberus!

What about me?

Pikachu!

Pee-kachu!

With all of this going on, who had time to think about ebola?!

Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade, Part 2 of 3

Wow, I have so many pictures that I'm going to divide this into three posts!

This post is dogs with humans. The next post will be dogs alone.

Before I start, I just want to point out that I didn't see any crusties yesterday, with their brown pitbulls. They could easily have won a prize!

So with no further ado, I present dogs and humans:

Who says cats and dogs can't get along?

Orange is the new hat.

Mr. Wizard.

Scooby!

It's not easy to write captions.

These two kids were fascinated by this guy!

What did the Buddhist say to the hotdog vendor?
Make me one with everything!

Many of the owners were more dressed up than their dogs!

Clowns! Where's the circus?

Argh!

Wow, lens flare! I didn't even do this in Photoshop!

This guy is checking his iPhone. "Am I on East Village Today yet?"

Spangley.

Daisy Trio?

Oooh, oooh, witchy woman.

Interviewed by Russia TV.

Doctor Who?

The Mother of Dragons cavorting with John Snow.

Aye, aye-yi-yi. I am the Frito bandito!

Secretariat!

This dog looks bored!

Hey, what are you doing?

This is the way to take pictures!

Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade, Part 1 of 3

Get ready for some exclamation points!

Today (yesterday, now) was the 24th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade, and was it a show! So much so that I have to separate the post into two. This post will just give you an overview of the event.

Without a doubt this was the most people I've ever seen in the park at any one time!

Avenue to avenue people, along the East 9th Street corridor.

If you were entering your dog in the competition, you had to line up before the entrance to the dog run:

The doorman: No dog, no entrance.

Once you were inside, the line continued:

Lining up, inside and out.

A lot of the activity was outside the dog run though. People and their dogs posed for pictures all afternoon!

I can't end this without at least one dog picture!

Statue of Liberty dog.

Come back tomorrow for lots more dog pictures!
