Interesting Gate

Among the many things the East Village is known for, interesting gates isn't one of them (except to the degree that rickety old gates are interesting)!

After seeing this gate however, on East 9th Street, maybe it should be:

Interesting gate.

Kind of a strange construction. I would have capped that top block — who knows how much litter is inside that thing?!
