Second-Cutest Block

East 9th Street has for a long time been considered the cutest block in the East Village.

And why not? It's so cute!

Recently, East 7th Street has been getting into the act, stringing up lights over the sidewalk, the way East 9th Street does.

Behold:

Trash & Vaudeville is getting into the picture too!

Metsbike

Regular riders of Citibikes know that from time to time new bikes make their way into our lives.

The most recent one I've seen is this, on Avenue D, featuring the Mets:

What's with all these hippies in sports these days? It's even worse in football — every team has a hippie on it now!

East Villagers like punks, not hippies!

Pictures From a Punk Rock Exhibition

I didn't just shoot videos at this weekend's punk rock concert, I took pictures too!

If there's a punk rock concert in Tompkins Square Park, you can be sure there will be crusties in attendance:

What does his jacket say? Here is a close-up [NSFW]:

F**k the Mall.

I guess he doesn't like the mall!

East Villagers are always introducing new fashions — here's one you're sure to see more of soon: canes for couples!

These days, even punk rockers need glasses:

Finally, while not an East Village celebrity, he is a celebrity — introducing: Aron Kay:

"Look! I'm on East Village Today!"

Hey hey, my my, punk rock and roll will never die!

Sid and Nancy Go Shopping

As many of you probably know, the East Village was once a terrible place, full of drug addicts and criminals. Today it's much different, but it still holds onto some of its dangerous past.

I spotted these two walking down East 9th Street:

It's not your father's East Village!
