Second Avenue Bagels

Since I first wrote about the beloved Tompkins Square Bagels opening a new location on Second Avenue, people who were not even conceived yet were conceived, born, and celebrated their six-month birthdays without the new location opening!

This past Wednesday, riding my Citibike as I was, on the sidewalk, I noticed that they finally opened:

If this were my bagel store, I would call it Second Avenue Bagels — it's more appetizing!

Coming Soon

When last we checked in on the beloved Tompkins Square Bagels (July/2015), the construction fence at their second location (on Second Avenue) had just gone up.

There hasn't been much progress since then. I passed by recently, and saw that there is now a banner up stating that they're coming soon:

"Rolling into town sometime before the 2nd Ave. Subway. We promise!"

That's promising!

Outdoor Seating

By now you know I was walking around upper Avenue A this past Sunday. I saw many things while I was up there, many things to behold!

Behold:

Outdoor seating.

Whatever it was that used to reside beside the beloved Tompkins Square Bagels has put out their furniture, and an Igloo Playmate, and some trash.

It looks like Tompkins Square Bagels has already started to take over this area, although if it were me, I'd want my bagel on a plate!

East Villagers love their bagels on a plate!
