Who doesn't love a good face cookie for Valentine's Day?

I was walking by the beloved Cupcake Market yesterday, on East 7th Street, when I saw these Valentine's Day face cookies in their window:

Left to right, top: Justin Bieber; Kim Kardashian; empty space;
Bottom: Smirky Guy; Donald Trump; Hillary Clinton.

It may be that these were not for Valentine's Day, but who wouldn't want a Donald Trump (or other celebrity) face cookie on Valentine's Day?!

Donald Trump Was Here

It looks like the President of America, Donald Trump, paid a visit to the East Village, and signed the window of the beloved no name Grocery Inc. on Avenue D!

It must have happened while I was at work — I'm sure I would have noticed all the fanfare!

Paintings For Sale

I was walking across East 7th Street this past week, when I saw these paintings outside the Avenue A and East 7th Street entrance to Tompkins Square Park:

Paintings.

I could have sworn that I had earlier pictures of these same paintings, from years ago; I wanted to compare these to those, because I think they're either the same paintings, or reproductions — that maybe they're not paintings at all!

After I took the picture, the vendor, sitting at a drum making noise with it, said if I take pictures I should make a contribution of $1.00. I respectfully declined.

These smaller paintings (or reproductions) lined the fence on the East 7th Street side of the park:

I was walking across East 2nd Street some time ago, when I noticed something odd about the metal plate the Department of Transportation workers used to cover excavations and street defects during construction projects:

If you look at it quickly, it looks like Trump!

Weird, no?
