I was walking across East 9th Street, oh, about fifteen days ago, when I saw these masking-taped stairs, directing people up and away from the wet paint:

Up and away.

How do you get down though?!

Masking Tape vs. Chainsaw

Just the other day, I reported on a local effort to resuscitate a tree on East 4th Street, with masking tape!

I'm afraid it was too little, too late.

Behold:

Tree gone.

In a contest between masking tape and a chainsaw, the chainsaw always wins!

The Mended Tree

I may have mentioned this before, but it bears repeating: East Villagers are a resourceful lot!

I was walking across East 4th Street, toward the nearby Citibike station, when I noticed this bit of tree mending:

Mended tree.

Anything can be fixed with a little help from our friend Mr. Masking Tape!
