So Serene

I took this picture of the inside of some formerly-beloved place on East 7th Street back in January, and I didn't take a picture of the front of the building to remind me what it was!

No idea.

It's nice though, right? Sometimes I think the best part of the East Village is the inside of vacant storefronts — they're so serene!

    There are just so many good things about this one, too many list them all!
    The diagonals and vertical and horizontal lead in from the left and across. Then some verticals and horizontals and diagonals lead out. And an almost one color palette. The curtain and the chair and the bucket tell their own story. The curtained area recedes while the counter comes forward. White lighting track with dark horizontal below it. The darkened back room with the vertical radiator lines divides the whole image.
