One Of These Things…

…is just like the others!

Walking down East 4th Street recently, what I thought was five baby carrots turned out to be four baby carrots and one small balloon!

Behold:

Baby carrots and balloon.

Pretty darned amazing, if you ask me!

For Your Protection

I stopped into the beloved Alphabet City Deli & Grill on Avenue C the other day — the local deli, bakery, magazine, grocery, lotto, soda, beer, and more store — to get me a bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll. That's when I saw this:

Individually-wrapped carrots and beets.

These beets (and carrots) are guaranteed to be untouched by other beets (and carrots)!

The apples, on the other hand — forget it! Who knows what those apples could be picking up from the other apples!

East Villagers love a discrete beet (and carrots)!

Vegetable Humor

What's orange and sounds like a parrot?

A carrot.

East Villagers love vegetable humor!

For the record, this was taken on Avenue B the day of the 25th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade! And here's a little-known fact: Vizslas love carrots!

One way or another, everything connects to the Dog Parade… in the East Village Today!
