Models Modelling

Wherever you go in the East Village, you're bound to see a photographer photographing a model modelling.

Here is one such site, witnessed on St. Mark's Place, not so very long ago:

"Hey look, it's East Village Today!"

The East Village makes a perfect backdrop for any product being sold — it's so cutting-edge!

Keeping Up Appearances

I was riding my Citibike across East 6th Street last week, when I saw these models being photographed outside the 6BC Botanical Garden:

Here is a close-up:

They look so glum, but once the photographer was finished, they sprang up smiling!

More Photographers and Models

East Village Today is a very influential blog.

Not long ago, I posted pictures of the formerly-beloved Avenue C Deli Corp., née Los Muchachos Supermarket. A mere two days later, this group of models and photographers was outside it, modelling and photographing:

New Graffiti Mural

I was coming out of Tompkins Square Park onto Avenue B this past Sunday, when I saw this new graffiti mural on the East 7th Street wall of the beloved Jillery:

New graffiti mural.

Until recently, this wall was blank — or white, if you prefer!

This wall was a very popular site for photographers and models. It probably still will be, for different photographers and models!

Photographing & Filmmaking

Yesterday was such a nice day in the East Village that it seems every photographer and filmmaker was out photographing and film-making!

This group of filmmakers was making a film on East 4th Street, in front of the Secret Garden at Avenue C:

Further up Avenue C, at East 6th Street, this group of photographers and models was photographing and modelling clothes:

Here they are from a different angle:

Low-Powered Fashion Shoot

Yesterday was certainly a day for recording events on the SD cards of cameras! From the mural documentary to this, in Tompkins Square Park:

Low-powered fashion shoot.

Even I was out taking pictures — but then, I'm always out taking pictures!

In fact, I'm going out right now! See you in the East Village… today!

Fashion Photo Shoot

I was walking past the 6BC Botanical Garden on East 6th Street yesterday, when I happened upon a fashion photo shoot:

Finishing touches on the model.

I couldn't tell who the photographer was, but the woman furthest back (you can barely see the side of her head) was holding the aluminum-foil-covered reflector circle!

Whether it's jeans or shirts or boots or jewelry, nothing entices consumers to buy more than a model standing outside a community garden…

Photographers and Models

As you know, there are many photographers in the East Village. Sometimes though, there are models too!

I spotted this photographer/model combination on St. Mark's Place yesterday afternoon:

Say "Cheese"!

As you can see, there wasn't a lot of room on the sidewalk, so I had to squeeze between the tripod and the fence. I was tempted to call 311, since tripods are required to be half the width of the sidewalk, or eight feet, from the edge of the building, whichever is greater, but I decided to cut them some slack, because… (hold on to your hats for this one): Do you know what the background is for their shot?

It's the cool old pickup truck!

Funny, I never thought of putting a person into the shot…

It just goes to show you: East Village photographers are on the cutting edge of cool!

Photo Shoot in Tompkins Square Park

I was walking through Tompkins Square Park this morning, when I saw these three:

Watch the birdie!

The model walked while the cameraman took pictures and the light-reflector man shone light on her, then they returned to their starting point.

Returning to starting point.

Another high-powered fashion shoot… in the East Village!

Photo Shoot on East 7th Street

As I passed by the intersection of Avenue A and East 7th Street yesterday (Black Friday), I spied this group of photographer/models setting up for a photo shoot:
