Cone Adorned

You may notice some of my recent posts refer to pictures taken "lo, these eleven days ago" or "’round about ten days ago"…

So it may come as no surprise to you when I say I was walking up Avenue A a month and two days ago(!) when I saw this orange-cone-adorned bus shelter, at East 3rd Street:

Orange-cone-adorned bus stop.

The bus shelter itself is not so special, apart from being the East 3rd Street stop of the beloved M14A bus — it's the orange cone on top that's special!

You just never know where those things will show up… in the East Village Today!

i started noticing EVT-style photos appearing in the EVG blog: empty storefronts, street scenes, etc. first thought - EVT has got a new gig, with EVG no less! second thought - EVG has noticed that the EVT-style of photography is superlative to all others, and tells a better story, too, and so EVG has ordered their photo staff to start taking photos in the EVT-style. third thought - if EVG is copying the EVT-style, and we all know that the EVT-style is so unique that no one could truly copy it, then it really MUST be EVT doing a gig for EVG. fourth thought - if it is the EVG photogs that are copying the EVT-style, then tell EVG to stop, or, to pay homage.

    1. I haven't looked at that other blog in a long time. Thanks for the heads up!

I can tell you that I don't have a gig there, so if anything, it's his photographers copying my style, which makes sense!

    2. 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery', or something like that?
