Last night, walking home from work, I decided to stop in at the beloved Cupcake Market on East 7th Street, and buy my loved ones a Donald Trump face cookie!

As I approached, however, I saw a police activity outside this mannequinny place:

Police activity.

The yellow tape read: Crime Scene.

Tonight I passed by there again, to discover that it was the beloved Neon by Cheng!

Still closed.

They're still closed — I hope no one was hurt!

Mannequin

I was walking across East 10th Street, when something inside Tompkins Square Park took me by surprise!

This had all the appearances of a mysterious TV show:

Oh no!

Fortunately, it turned out to be just a mannequin:

Just a mannequin.

Tragedy averted!

Shoe Mannequin

Whenever you need new clothes, it always helps to look at the mannequin in the store, to see how the clothes will look.

I never thought the same would be true for shoes, but apparently it is!

Behold, outside Tompkins Square Park, at the corner of Avenue A and East 7th Street:

"Check out my groovy boots!"

I can't say I'm a big fan of brown shoes, though.

Flair

If there's a store in the East Village that screams out "Flair!", it's the beloved Neon by Cheng, on East 7th Street:

They even have the name of the store (Neon) spelled out in inert gas (neon) lights on the ceiling!
