Attention Writers and Performers

Have you ever wanted to be a writer, and maybe write a blog that, oh, I don't know, promotes awareness of East Village coolness, for example?

Now is your chance to do just that, and have it judged by your peers!

"That's not writing, it's just typing!"

The Tompkins Square branch of the New York Public Library is organizing a Writer/Performance Lab, that will meet Thursdays, September 21 and October 19, from 6–7 pm.

You can find more information here.

Thanks to Armand A. Ruhlman, the "Metaphysical Vampire of the Lower East Side", for this information!

Time For Some Glasses

As it was explained to me by my eye doctor, with time and wear, the small muscles of the eyeball that bring about focus begin to weaken. Unless you get a pair of glasses, or contact lenses, or some kind of corrective surgery, your only option is to squint and move closer what you're trying to see.

With that introduction, I saw this in front of the Ottendorfer branch of the New York Public Library yesterday afternoon, on Second Avenue:

"Hmmm, what's good on the internet today?"

Don't squint, it'll give you wrinkles… in the East Village Today!
