Very Stonehengey

I was walking past the Lower East Side Ecology Center Community Garden on East 7th Street, back in December, when I saw these stones stacked like some kind of henge:

I'm sure it's some a shrine to some chair goddess — East Villagers are way into that kind of thing!

Unseemly Things

I was walking in the East Village somewhere where the pavings stones are like the ones below, when I saw this very colorful, dead bug:

I'm pretty sure it's a Japanese Beetle.

Why don't you ever see these things flying?!
