Three Cans… Revisited

One month and four days ago, I took a picture of shiny, new recycling and trash cans on the corner of Second Avenue and East 11th Street.

When I posted the story on Neighborhood Square, the following discussion ensued:

True to my word, here is an updated picture:

Updated picture.

I don't know… looks like East Villagers are pretty clean — even if they do leave their bricks lying around!

If you still can't tell, here is a close-up:

Cool and clean… that's the East Village Today!

Three Cans and a Graffiti

I was riding my Citibike down Second Avenue yesterday when, as all law-abiding East Villagers do, I stopped at the red light.

While waiting for the light to turn green, I noticed an array of multi-colored receptacles beside me, leading to the very groovy skeleton head we've all come to love:

Multi-colored receptacles.

By the way, did you know the very groovy skeleton head has a name?

Travel forward to a future blog post find out about it!

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

What did I say about blinking? Don't do it — you'll miss something!

Tonight I was walking down Avenue A, when I saw the OSHA graffiti, that I posted a picture of a mere five days ago, was gone!

Behold:

OSHA graffiti gone.

In its place is the very groovy skeleton head we've all come to love, on a plywood board!

A plywood board? Oh yes — the glass is missing too!

Pretty soon, squatters will be living in this place!
