Clean Walls

East Villagers love a clean wall — they go to great lengths to keep them that way!

This past Saturday, I saw this fellow installing a video camera on East 4th Street side of the building on Avenue A and East 4th Street:

Installing a video camera.

Here is the wall they hope to keep clean:

Messy wall.

Further down the block is the ugliest building in the East Village, so they have their work cut out for them!

Premises Monitored

I was walking down Avenue B yesterday afternoon, when I passed by the former space of the once-beloved Tu Casa, now an empty space preparing for new occupants, and saw this sign:

Notice sign.

"Oh my," I thought. "Am I on candid camera?"

But no, I wasn't:

No camera here.

Or here.

Once the cameras are installed, the sign will probably come down — you can't very well announce that you're secretly videotaping someone… in the East Village Today!

Smile, You're on Camera

I was walking down East 10th Street this past Saturday, when I passed by this sign on wall of a building:

Sign on wall.

I smiled for the camera, and then took my picture — I mean this picture, not a selfie!

I wonder if this camera is for a local blog? Maybe I'll be on it!
