Work Of Art Car

You can always tell an artist's car in the East Village — they're works of art themselves!

Behold, seen on East 7th Street:

Work of art car.

Of course, if you need confirmation, all you have to do is walk around to the other side:

The other side.

Your ego has no followers — not like East Village Today!

Donald Trump Was Here

It looks like the President of America, Donald Trump, paid a visit to the East Village, and signed the window of the beloved no name Grocery Inc. on Avenue D!

Behold:

D. Trump signature.

It must have happened while I was at work — I'm sure I would have noticed all the fanfare!

Big Ugly Mess

The beloved Minca, on East 5th Street, is a big ugly mess:

Big ugly mess.

This place is just across the street from another place that was a big ugly mess back in 2014. It must have something to do with the orange background.

Sources tell me that the food here is good, but I don't know — I've never eaten here!

East Village Warming

As many things as there are cool about the East Village, one thing that is not cool is East Village Warming!

Recently, the New York City Department of City Planning released their Community District Profile, which shows how the East Village will be affected by global warming — it's not a pretty site!

Pretty colors, but not a pretty site.

The blue shows where the water goes when it floods now, such as during a hurricane. The aquamarine shows where the water is predicted to go by 2050.

At least the new entrance to the FDR at Houston Street is safe!

Models Modelling

Wherever you go in the East Village, you're bound to see a photographer photographing a model modelling.

Here is one such site, witnessed on St. Mark's Place, not so very long ago:

"Hey look, it's East Village Today!"

The East Village makes a perfect backdrop for any product being sold — it's so cutting-edge!

Re-Paint Job?

Did the beloved Miss Lily's, on the corner of Avenue A and East 7th Street, repaint?

Is this a new color?

I'm not sure. Maybe it's just that the tables are gone from the sidewalk.

Totem Pole

I was walking across East 10th Street, back in imid-December, when I saw what looks all the world like a totem pole:

Totem pole.

In any other neighborhood, it would look all the world like an air-quality monitoring station or something, but in the East Village, it becomes a work of art!

When Love Rots

I was walking up Avenue C recently, past the construction fence behind which occurs no construction, when I saw this paper pasted around the peep hole:

Here is a close-up:

When love rots
it still smells like
roses
An inspiring message — just in time for Valentine's Day!

Very Stonehengey

I was walking past the Lower East Side Ecology Center Community Garden on East 7th Street, back in December, when I saw these stones stacked like some kind of henge:

Some kind of henge.

Here is a close-up:

I'm sure it's some a shrine to some chair goddess — East Villagers are way into that kind of thing!

Under Cover Of Darkness

I was walking down Second Avenue a couple of weeks ago, when I saw these people installing the signage outside the newly-beloved Vape N Smoke, under cover of darkness:

This is why it seems new stores just appear out of nowhere — they do!
