The strange thing about this abandoned television set on East 6th Street is not that it was abandoned, but that someone still used it before abandoning it.

East Villagers don't like to throw away anything; at the same time, they don't like to be hoarders either!

Rather than throwing away these unwanted, last-of-the-set plates, this Enviro-Villager put them into a cardboard box and put the box outside, for some freegan to take:

When these signs were first put up, cautioning people to keep this area on East 3rd Street clear, they were probably thinking of parked cars, not lamps:

Abandoned Bed Frame

I was walking down Avenue D, over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, when I saw this abandoned bed frame beside a trash can, at the corner of East 4th Street:

I wonder if the Sanitation Department workers picked it up, or if some freegan got it first?!

Forklift in a Dumpster

You see a lot of things in the dumpsters of the East Village, a lot of it gets pulled out and taken home by freegans!

What you don't usually see, however, is someone throwing away a forklift, like this one that I saw on East 6th Street:

Every empty container is a trash can, especially when they're already trash cans!
