Graffiti Motorcycle

I was walking across East 3rd street this morning, when I saw these orange doodles sprayed on this motorcycle cover:

Orange doodle-graffiti.

The doodles look like voodoo symbols: eyes and stick figures and squiggles and such. The bottom says: "GO BACK &". I wonder what the other side says? "TRY AGAIN"?

 I wonder if the owner did this, or some vandal?

Flag / No Flag

East Villagers love U.S. flags.

That explains why this motorcycle owner put a flag on his motorcycle, on East 6th Street:

Of course, U.S. flags are so desirable that someone is likely to steal it:

No flag on motorcycle.

Is that what happened here? Or did it fall off because it wasn't secured properly?

The Day After

The day after the blustery day, everything is back to normal on East 10th Street. Everything is back in its place, except…

…the tree is gone:

…and the fender is damaged:

…and the kickstand is bent, requiring assistance now from a rock:

The kickstand is bent.

You might think it's weird that the same cars are in the same place,
but — alternate-side parking is suspended on Wednesdays… in the East Village Today!

Motorcycle Down

I was walking up lower Avenue A earlier this week, when I saw this overturned motorcycle, at the intersection of East 5th Street:

It's a good thing it was covered — at least the paint won't be scratched!

Mystery Solved

Last week, I took a picture of a Mazda RX-7 with a chain attached to the front of it but to nothing else. It was a mystery, to be sure!

Well, the other day, the mystery was solved! The chain attaches to a motorcycle:

So the car is there to lock the motorcycle to — a movable… thing you lock other things to.
