OSHA was Here

I was walking down Avenue A yesterday evening, when I passed by the former location of the beloved East Village Pharmacy:

Former location of East Village Pharmacy.

Time and teenagers have not been kind to this building!

Despite its trashy exterior, this is what is looks like inside:

Inside.

This is where the soap and shampoo and toothpaste and suntan lotion and other stuff was, as well as the Webkinz animals!

East Villagers love Webkinz!

    1. Yeeessss, it was a bad picture. I tried every Noise filter in Photoshop and couldn't get rid of it, so I just blurred it a bit and let it go. I need a real camera.

    2. i encounter that kind of noise when the image is too dark? meaning there was not enough light whne the picture was taken. as i lighten the image, those noise blobs come out of the darkness.

:-) now i made it sound like some of monster lives inside those digitals. :-)

i use a point and shoot - cheap to buy, easy to use, fits in your pocket, takes pretty good photos. for web-bound images, it is the cat's pajamas!

  2. btw, thanks for posting all those empty store interiors in your various posts. few people realize their transience, and even fewer ever even pay attention to them as they walk by them. there is a special feeling to empty interiors. a certain beauty? a certain composition? a work in progress, perhaps, or a peek backstage?

i am glad that you are documenting them.

    1. I appreciate this. I like to take pictures of things no one notices.

  3. So... when is Gestations, the bar for pregnant ladies going to open?

See this place almost everyday either on my way to Key Food or NYSC...Christ this place is disgusting, can't the landlord rent it out to anybody?

    1. It seems like they should be able to — a corner location, only half the space of the pharmacy — but this past weekend I walked all over and I noticed *a lot* of places empty! Something's afoot!
