A Fine Job

One of the benefits of the recent "Grinding Existing Asphaltic Concrete Wearing Course Project HW2CR16B" is that the pavement was raised.

Behold, on East 4th Street:

Raised pavement.

Now the water from the street is able to come up onto the sidewalk. Before, when it rained, the water used to run down the street and into the sewer, causing major localized flooding!

Also, East Villagers are less likely now to be splashed by a passing car!

  1. with the street higher than the sidewalk, the street users will now be able to look down on the sidewalk users. i just hope they don't all snooty-like and we start hearing 'nyah-nyah, you're walking down there, and i a-a-am up here.'.

    I-)

    1. That's just how they are, right?! Maybe I'll do a story on them!

    2. i think a story on them would be very appropriate, those snooty down-lookers, what do they think they are, anyways? just because they are up just a little bit higher than us everyday sidewalk walking folks. i mean, like, really!
