Satellite Dishes Galore

You could walk around the East Village all day (trust me, I've done it!) and see nary a satellite dish.

Until you arrive at this building, on East 6th Street:

Satellite dish building.

Seven satellite dishes — probably one for each apartment!

The only thing I can think is that there is a live connection on the roof, and everyone has tapped into it!

Watching television the East Village way… in the East Village Today!

    1. I lived in a building like that, before moving to the spectacular East Village! You would think people would run the cords down the airshaft in the center of the building, but noooo!

    2. Nope, because that would involve slightly extra work to wire the inside of the apartment... laziness first by both customers and cable/satC companies

  2. btw, is this satellite site anywhere near where those space probes crashed? the ones that you had covered here . just wondering if there might be a connection? faulty data? beam steering anomaly?

    1. I would expect more people to go with FIOS, but maybe not!

    2. I have been trying to get Fios into my building in StMarks for years... not enough people to make it worth their time, but the building right next to mine has it. ARGHHHH!

    3. There's a woman on my block who has also been trying for years. She had people sign petitions and calls them regularly. She said she's made progress, but she still doesn't have it, so I don't know what that means.
