Something you rarely see anywhere today is people selling books on the street. Even in the East Village, the tables (or tarps on the ground) were over on Second Avenue, not Avenue A.
I rarely buy books any more. If there's something I want to read, I get it from the library. Only if it's something I want to be able to refer to in the future will I buy it.
This table is outside an empty storefront, on the same block as the vacant stretch of buildings mentioned in a previous post. I wonder if this is an ill omen?
