How else could you describe two pieces of wood lashed to a lamppost, with a single nail attached? There's a message here, waiting to be deciphered!

What is it saying? What is the artist trying to tell us? Maybe it's a statement about rebuilding, after the fire.
East Village art is ambiguous and transitory, and always cool!

that might also be a construction protector for the lamp post, so when you hit it with your back hoe, you hit, and damage, the wood and not the lamp post.
