The Moving Gate

I was walking through Tompkins Square park yesterday, when I saw a gate, separated from the fence that surrounds the grassy area, frozen in the ice. Oh yes, and a snow yurt:

Moments before, an East Villager stood on the gate and held the branch (a very popular branch for holding!):

Passing through the park again today, I saw that the gate was moved towards the fence, where it now awaits Parks Department workers to put it back in place on Monday:
