How's Iris?

On Friday, I wrote that East Villagers love to have their neighborhood in the movies.

One of the most famous movies of all time, "Taxi Driver", was shot partially in the East Village. And when I say shot, I mean shot!

The scene where Robert DeNiro shoots up everyone in the brothel was filmed at 226 East 13th Street:

It's the same building today as then. That is, it hasn't been torn down and a new one built. There might even be some of the same people living there!
