Dude, Where's My Lamppost?

I found myself at the corner of St. Mark's Place and Third Avenue the other day, when I noticed something missing:

Lamp post missing.

Also, unless I'm mistaken, it seems that the new lamppost is elevated on a large cement block.

Around the time that I first started this blog, the artist who created the lamppost mosaics was trying to destroy them! It's possible that he is the one who took this lamppost.

Lots of changes in the East Village!
